Born in Great Britain and emigrated to Canada in the late 60's
my art career began around 1969. Mostly self taught I originally began sketching and painting purely for my own pleasure.
I sold my first piece in 1971 and decided then I would devote as much of my time as I could to my art.
Never one to paint pictures to match decor or echo the aspirations of others.
My work has not always been pretty, however, I hope for the most part it has been (in my humble opinion) honest.
From time to time I have taught classes in the local community colleges and universities.
Taught for the "Artist in the Schools" program sponsored by the Ontario Arts Council in the 70's.
Since then I have focused on developing my talents and gleaning what I could from many associations with other passionate and dedicated artists over the years.
With a passion for both realism and surrealism, I have painted in Acrylics, Oils, Egg Tempra, Watercolours and Pencil. On occasion I have dabbled in Printmaking,
Sculpture, and Photography. These days a lot of my art is digital and somewhat more design oriented. |
