PRELUDE:  Tell Me the Stories of Jesus by F. Challinor. 1903.  Performed by Norman Abbott, piano. Public Domain.

WE GATHER AS GOD'S PEOPLE:

--Acknowledging the Territory:

Since time immemorial, Indigenous people have lived on and cared for this land.  We live, work and worship on the traditional land of the Anishinaabe (the Ojibwe or Chippewa Nation), the Haudenosaunee (the Iroguois, and the Oneida Nation), the Lenape (the Delaware People), the Attawandaron (the Neutral Nation or Algonquin People) and the Wendat (Huron People). In honour of all who have come before us, may we never forget that the history of this land didn't begin with us.  There are more sacred stories linked to this place. In the hope that we, and all people after us, may know the true history of this land, may we weave these stories into our lives as people who call this place home. We are all sacred people, beloved children of the Holy One. May we treat one another as such in truth and reconciliation.
